Our Daybreak Mill oats, grown here on our farm, have not been steam or heat treated during processing, so they are considered a raw food. Raw foods retain their full nutritional value throughout processing. The oats are stoneground, slow and steady. This ensures the flour is not heated, therefore keeping the nutritional value intact. The flour is then ran through a sifter to emulsify the oils back into the grain which aids in longer shelf life.
Consuming oat products has been shown to lower cholesterol levels in the body due to their high content of a special fiber called beta-glucan. Oats are good for the heart and cardiovascular system.
