Here at Daybreak Mill, we like to process our food products in the most natural way possible. Generally, when oats are rolled or flaked, there is a steaming process to stabilize the oats and give them a longer shelf life. We do not use any steam when we roll our oats - they are just straight rolled with no heat or steam. By processing our rolled oats in this way, we are preserving the natural enzymes in the oats so that they are healthy for your body. There is only one downside to this, and that is the shelf life...
