Makes approx 24 cookies
Ingredients:
1/2 cup cornstarch
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1 cup Daybreak Mill's Extra Light Pastry Flour
3/4 cup butter, softened
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp ground cloves
1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
Optional glaze:
1/2 cup powdered sugar
2 tbsp maple syrup
2 tsp milk
1/4 tsp lemon juice
Method:
Sift together cornstarch, sugar, flour and spices. With a wooden spoon, blend in butter until a soft, smooth dough forms
Shape into 1-inch balls. (If dough is too soft to handle, cover and chill for 30 to 60 minutes.) Place 1 1/2 inches apart on ungreased baking sheets; flatten with lightly floured fork, OR, dough can be rolled in 1 1/4 -inch thick and cut into shapes with cookie cutters.
Bake at 300 f for 15 to 20 minutes or until edges are lightly browned. Cool on wire rack. If using the glaze, drizzle over cookies once cool.
