1/2 cup of cold water
1/4 tsp sea salt
1/2 tsp tumeric
1/2 tsp cumin
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp onion powder
sea salt to sprinkle on top
extra flour for rolling
Who knew crackers were so simple to make! Have your oven warming up to 400F.
Start off by dissolving the salt into the cold water. In a separate bowl, combine spelt flour with the spices. Next, incorporate the flour mixture into the salted water.
Knead the dough into a ball.
You want to make sure your surface is completely covered in flour. When you think you may have a little too much, add more!
You want to roll out your dough as thin as you possibly can.
Cut a piece of parchment paper to size and place it on a cookie sheet, upside down.
Carefully lay your rolled dough onto parchment paper and score the dough. Using a pizza cutter is by far the easiest.
You then will want to poke holes in each cracker by using a fork.
After you have made your holes, spritz some water all over the crackers and then sprinkle with salt. This, of course, is optional.
Throw your crackers in the oven for 10 minutes. After 10 minutes you will want to monitor them checking every five minutes.
